It seems like all the babies Ridge's age are girls, but not best friend Beckett, aren't they handsome. Beckett and his sister Jada came over last night, Beckett must have worn Ridge out, cause he slept 10 HOURS straight. Jada and Beckett you are welcome anytime.

Oh Canada

I just found this as a post on one of my friend's blogs and since I now have connections to the good ol' country I thought that I might copy it from her blog and post it to mine. (Thanks Sherry)

Now that Vancouver will be hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics, these are some questions people from all over the world are asking.Believe it or not these questions about Canada were posted on an International Tourism Website.Obviously the answers are a joke; but the questions were really asked!

Q: I have never seen it warm on Canadian TV, so how do the plants grow? ( England )

A. We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around and watch them die.

Q: Will I be able to see Polar Bears in the street? ( USA )

A: Depends on how much you've been drinking.

Q: I want to walk from Vancouver to Toronto - can I follow the Railroad tracks? ( Sweden )

A: Sure, it's only Four thousand miles, take lots of water.

Q: Is it safe to run around in the bushes in Canada ? ( Sweden )

A: So it's true what they say about Swedes.

Q: Are there any ATM's (cash machines) in Canada ? Can you send me a list of them in Toronto , Vancouver , Edmonton and Halifax ? (England )

A: No, but you'd better bring a few extra furs for trading purposes.

A: A-fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe Ca-na-da is that big country to your North...oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Calgary

A: Face south and then turn 180 degrees Contact us when you get here and we'll send the rest of the directions.Q: Can I bring cutlery into Canada ? ( England )

A: Why? Just use your fingers like we do.

Q: Can you send me the Vienna Boys' Choir schedule? ( USA )

A: Aus-t ri-a is that quaint little country bordering Ger-man-y, which is...oh forget it. Sure, the Vienna Boys Choir plays every Tuesday night in Vancouver and in Calgary , straight after the hippo races.

Q: Do you have perfume in Canada ? ( Germany )

A: No, WE don't stink.

Q: I have developed a new product that is the fountain of youth. Where can I sell it in Canada ? ( USA )

A: Anywhere significant numbers of Americans gather.

Q: Do you celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada ? ( USA )

A: Only at Thanksgiving.

Q: Are there supermarkets in Toronto and is milk available all year round? ( Germany )

A: No, we are a peaceful civilization of Vegan hunter/gathers. Milk is illegal.

Q: I have a question about a famous animal in Canada , but I forget its name. It's a kind of big horse with horns. ( USA )

A: It's called a Moose. They are tall and very violent, eating the brains of anyone walking close to them. You can scare them off by spraying yourself with human urine before you go out walking.

Q: Will I be able to speak English most places I go? ( USA )

A: Yes, but you will have to learn it first.

Yummy Veggies

Best friend Katie had the idea that we should have a vegan meal every month, so for January we got together at my house and made some tasty recipes. Katie found them all I just helped cook. I didn't think that I would be able to find recipes that fit the criteria so I let her pick them all, after our first meal I realized that it really isn't that hard to make vegan meals, I eat vegan stuff all the time I just don't think about it. Next month, I am in charge, and I am already looking for recipes.

We had stuffed squash (which could have used a little more flavor) califlower salad (my favorite) and hummus ((my dad really like it, I need to teach him to make it because it is really easy).

I also got my first bountiful basket. I am excited for all the veggies, I will need to try to eat more fruit though, because I now have a lot. Oh and Ridge had his first taste of squash last night and he loved it.

Wow, I have taken a few photos. I ecided it was about time to do something with them so I downloaded them and postede them here. The quality of the photos is not that great so I have found that if I put them on the blog any larger than this they look pretty bad. If you are real bored see if you can find a photo that proves that I am a bad mom. Ooops.

I sure do love this little guy.

So the other night I was in bed and I turned to Steveo and I said, "You're everything to me."
He responded, "Your everything but a butthole."
"What!?" said I.

Christmas Trees

Tis the season, so we took a little trip up to Island Park to look for the perfect tree. Momma Bear made sure that the trees that we selected were trees that, if illiminated, would help the forest to grow up even bigger and stronger. (For example, the tree below was cut down to make more room for the tree right behind it.) Thanks for watching out for the forest Momma. Ridge really injoyed the trip, although he could not move his arms or legs.

I just think this is the cutest, Steve made his own hat and he wears it everywhere. Today he made a little one for Ridge. I think that Ridge likes it, he wants fo be just like his dad.

Adam and Kymberli

I am thinking that I probably should have posted this a long time ago, it is kind of a big deal. Adam got married on the 24th of October. Kym is great and them seem so happy. I just still can't believe that someone as nice as Kym would want to put up with Adam. Just kidding bro.

Happy Baby

Halloween

It is a little late, but I guess that it is better than nothing. Ridge and I went to Aunt Tam's on the morning of Halloween. I told everyone it was so Ridge could experience the awesomeness of Halloween at Katie's house but deep down inside I wanted to go to get the traditional Sloppy Jo and yummy goodies.

I must admit that it is a good thing I have great friends (Katie) because I often forget my camera or I leave it in the car so I miss the Kodak moment (you would think that with a name like Eastman I would be good at remembering to take photos and bring my camera, you know Eastman Kodak). So anyway Ridge had a fun time with Beckett. We hope that they are going to be great friends always, hopefully Beckett has forgiven Ridge for hitting him, he just cannot control those arms yet. Also as you can tell, neither boy is great at controlling his head yet.


Steveo was a good sport. I made him dress up as celery and I went as a carrot.

Faces of Ridge

I cannot believe how fast time is going by. Ridge is 7 weeks today and somewhere around 12lbs. It is fun to watch him show his personality.

Saint Anthony Demo Derby

Steveo and Cody won! They really did. They drove a car donated by Pam Barker's mom and got help fixing it up from Katie Sutton, Ryan Barker and Aaron Ricks. I didn't do anything to help but I sat with Mom and Adam and I cheered loud. Cody's wife, Avery, and his sister made some awesome shirts for us. They say "It's Crunch Time" on the back and "Steveo and Cody" on the front. I don't know why I enjoy derbies so much but I do. I will try to post a photo of the smashed up car later. It doesn't look too bad, guess it is because it is a subaru.

Ridge Orrin

Ridge was born on Friday the 28th of August at 4:48. He weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz and was 20 inches long. Less than 2 hours after we entered the hospital he was in my arms. He was born in the caul. This means that my water didn't break until after he came out. The midwife told us that this is considered very lucky in some cultures. He did not want to give up that swimming pool. Summer Fun

I cannot believe that we are in the middle of August already. I really do enjoy being outside. We have done and seen some interesting things. We were introduced to 'bed racing' in Rigby this year. Kind of weird but funny at the same time. Teams push a bed through a course while throwing water balloons at each other and the crowd.

Steveo has had a few 'work parties' this summer. One was at the

zoo and another at a Chuckers game. I have also been introduced to Rigby Lake this summer, it is nice to get out and get in the water once in a while.

We took a trip up north to Canada. We pulled Steveo's car, Blue Dart, on a trailer the whole way up. We needed to take it back to Canada because we cannot use it here unless we import it, but Steveo decided that it probably wasn't worth it. He loves that car, I cannot believe that he parted with it.

We visted Writing on Stone in Canada and climbed on the HooDoos.

We have had a few visitors this summer also. Doug and Sarah are moving to Idaho soon and they have spent some time with us as they have looked for a house and finalized things with work. We went to the International Dance Festival with them.

Last but not least, for all of you have been asking for a 'belly shot,' here it is. (I find it funny that most of the people that keep asking for this picture are also pregnant yet I see no belly shots on their blogs, you know who you are, I will be watching) They guess that I have a little less than 2 weeks now. We shall see.

Gardens

I love produce. Carrots are my candy, salad is my favorite food, and there is nothing better than eating fresh peas out of the garden. Steveo and I planted a garden this year. It has been real fun, I have my own farmer's market in my back yard.










Almost everything that we planted has sprouted but the weeds have been the most successful. I can fill the big garbage can with weeds from the garden every week. The first photo was taken about a month ago, everything has grown so much since then.
I've learned a lot for next year's crop. For example radishes grow real fast and there is no way to preserve them and even if the recipe says that radish chips are delicious they are not. I also have enough lettuce to feed a small army so if anyone would like some please come and get it.


We also have a new horse. Just kidding, it is not ours, we just let the neighbors put their horses in our pasture to help to eat it down.

Keeping Busy

Well, I have been trying my hand at sewing a few things for the little gunner. I am worried that some of theses things he will only wear once because he definitely has the potential to grow tall. So to explain the photo, starting at the left and going clockwise there is a reversible coat a sleeper (my favorite part is the grippers on the bottom of the feet), then there is a onesie, with booties and a beanie, a bib and some pj pants. Nothing to complex but they are fun to make. One month from today is the official due date. Yikes! Here is a blessing dress that I made, obviously it is not for our little boy. (yes I know that boys wore dressed years ago, but they don't now.) Also there is another sleeper that I made for Math Jon and Kami's baby Amelia who just turned one. She's cute, hopefully it will fit.
